Cool Handmade stuff

So Suzanne taught me this great website for buying all things handmade. Its called Etsy.com and you can buy everything from jewelry to vintage clothing to pieces of art. I LOVE it, and I am looking for a really cool painting or photo for my room... but there were too many options. There is even a whole color palate page that you can scroll over if you're trying to match a specific color scheme in a room. It will pull up all sorts of items matching that color!
Picking a piece of art could either take me days, or 30 seconds. You just kind of know. I like this charcoal sketch, just not sure I could pull it off in my room's theme.

People and secrets

So how weird is it that humans, in general, want to confide their secrets at least to someone/something. I LOVE PostSecret. Its all things that you know people do/think about, but you never actually ponder it.
Some are really intense and really depressing while others are really funny.

"I'm devasted right now..."

"I'm so excited, I could die...put me in my grave right now with this ring" "Are you serious, I'm devastated right now..."

Currently obsessed with Rachel Zoe's many facial expressions...

Happy Citizenship day everyone!

Yeah, I know- its ironic. In light of Citizenship day, I need to have a GT's Raw Organic Kombucha (completely unrelated). For those of you who do not know what that is, Kombucha is a tea that is basically fermented. The end result, at least with GT's is an effervescent drink flavored with real fruit juice and ands up with a hint of vinegar taste and "cultures" floating around. It may not sound appetizing, but you get used to that taste and it ends up being slightly addictive.

Basically, "Kombucha has an “adaptogenic” ability that gives it a reputation for its widespread health properties. Its adaptogen effect is seen mostly through its influence on the liver, the blood and the digestive system, where it normalizes the acidity or pH. Metabolic balancing and detoxification is perhaps the most important function of Kombucha."

It isn't Pasteurized, Sugary or overly sweet, Caffeinated, Artificial, Filled with preservatives.

I love it, and I know a few people here at the office are addicted as well.

The big 22

Does anyone still watch The Hills besides me? I think that show has definitely gone downhill...but I can't stop watching. So Heidi turned 22 yesterday...how exciting is that?
I won't even get into Spencer and his sparse pubic, I mean facial hair. I love how Dlisted calls them Twit and Twat, it seems fitting.

The Blog is Back!!

Yay! So I need to compete with Suzanne (I'll never beat Ang) on the blog front. So the blog is back! I have decided that this blog will involve a bit of my extremely exciting life, as well as my favorite things, i.e. celebrity gossip, and other things that entertain me.

Looking forward to 2008!

*At xmas

It has been forever but I am finally posting!
2007 was an interesting year for me. Had a great last few months with Club Med- met some great kitties who I will be meeting up with in LA in a couple weeks, then was trying to figure out what to do next. Life throws things at you, you make decisions at the time and can't regret it later because you did make that decision. Ended up moving home then into the city. I got the greatest little puppy in the land and he will be ringin in the new year with his best friend Milo! I am very excited for New Years this year, which is great considering I never usually like New Years.
I am still working at Sittercity and I love it! Very excited to start the new year there and see what happens!
We went back to Canada for Xmas this year, I missed out last year because I was at Club Med :( so it was good to go back.
In 2008 I am looking forward to being with friends, concentrating on things that make me happy and just being more productive. I can't wait!
I hope that everyone has a great night tonight!!

I'm a mommy

Ok, not to a child...but a puppy!!! His name is Bruiser, and he was born July 3, 2007. I got him almost 3 weeks ago and we're in love. He is a little 1.5lb yorkie and thinks that he is a big dog. We found him in a little pet store just south of chicago. Even though I had been looking for dogs for a while, it was kind of impulsive and we didn't even have a bed for him. The first week was pretty rough. He woke up maybe 6-7 times a night and had accidents everywhere. But things have calmed down and he now comes with me to work everyday in his vera bradley dog tote. VERY sophisticated. He has a new best friend, Milo, the 6 month old maltese at work. So we are one big happy family.

Work is still great, still love it and love health insurance and paychecks! The only thing that I don't like is the stupid train to and from work everyday. Such a pain, worst transportation system i've ever seen.

Other than that, I lost my phone a couple weeks ago so send me your numbers!!

Apparently I'm really interesting...

Hey Kids,

Ok well apparently if I don't update my blog- it causes people to feel disconnected and god knows I can't have that!

So here's the latest;

I started working for this company called Sittercity.com about a month ago. Sittercity is a website that basically sets up parents with babysitters/pet sitters etc. I am the office manager here so I help out with customer service, help the CEO and keep the office in working order. There are about 22 of us and we work in River North in these awesome lofts. Everyone is super nice and the whole atmosphere is relaxed, no dress code etc. I really like it and enjoy the company is constantly growing- so its something that I can only move forward with.

If you're really bored/curious you can check out my 100 things on the sittercity website:

Jake and I have been in the greatest little apt for about a month now. We love it, its 1,000 sq feet, 3 floor brownstone, its great. Jake got a fishtank so that adds ambiance to the living room-and keeps him occupied. We also find out that we can have small dogs in the apt. There is also a teacup maltese at work that has forced me into being obsessed with the idea of a teacup dog. So of course i can't do anything else besides obsess over the idea. I went to pocket puppies last week and will continue to go until I leave with a dog. I found an adorable little yorkie that I wanted.... however it seems as though I can't afford a $2,100 dog just yet...?

I am very excited for the Iowa game this weekend!!! Should be good times, I just hope that I make it home in one piece.

Other than that, I am getting used to the idea of having a permanent job! I am also extremely excited to have actual health insurance beginning the 1st of sept.

Keep me updated on your lives~!!
