Is everyone engaged?!

So I'm sitting at home, minding my own business... and by minding my own business, I mean STALKING facebook. When the fabulous Facebook News feed pops up and I see that my friend from High school and ex boyfriend of best friend is engaged! Now, of course this is great and exciting for them, but it just gets me stressed out!

With my free time I have been productively studying how many people I know are engaged and or married. Now I have only been to one friends wedding thus far, which isn't bad. I just don't understand how it works. Do you get engaged right out of college then find a place to live, get a job, AND try to plan a wedding? Do you have a 3 year engagement? Or date for 2 years, live together and then get engaged? Whats the process here? And whats with the people still in undergrad who are married? "Hi study group, I made muffins. Have we figured out how WWI started yet? My husband should be here shortly with the milk." I guess I don't understand the rush, why can't you wait a couple years until you're settled? I have two good friends who have been dating since high school, and are both out of college, both have jobs and aren't rushing into getting engaged. I like that!

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who says that they don't want to get married until they're 35 and have kids at 40. Definitely not. If I'm 30 and not married, BEWARE. I will not be stable.

Let's get down to the real problem here...I have too much time on my hands and facebook is simply feeding my serious addiction to gossip. Someone contact A&E immediately! I'll even pretend like I don't know what the show is about.

I leave Thursday for Rochester for a week or so. Very excited about that!

Good news: I got my giant backpack for traveling! Which includes a fanny pack!

Bad News: I still have no idea when my passport will come. Honestly Canada, what's the problem here?!

Love, Jen

I love the muffins comment. Reminds me of this crazy girl I used to be friends with who tied the knot last year. People are crazy!
